Enjoy a short morning drive after your departure from Moab, Utah along the winding river road to the launching point. Once the boat is launched onto a quiet section of the Colorado River, you will drift into a world of towering geological wonders that will wash away the bustle of the world you left behind. You’ll soon be amazed to encounter Native American ruins and petroglyphs as well as remnants of a petrified forest. From cliff-side hiking, you will be awed by the sublime vistas and natural grandeur before you continue to meander down the river. Around midday you’ll satisfy your hunger with a savory buffet lunch on the banks of the river. After lunch, the cliffs soar to greater heights as the canyon deepens to over 2,000 feet. The river crashes down the canyon with nearly 30 whitewater rapids including Capsize, the Big Drops, the Mile Longs, Little Niagara, Satan’s Gut and Repeat. After a full day of exhilarating excitement, you’ll relax in the riverside camp as we prepare a scrumptious sunset dinner. As the evening wears thin, you’ll be lulled to sleep by the crackling campfire and the swirling river as a field of stars envelops the sky.
The next morning, you’ll awake to the sun painting the canyon walls and the smell of breakfast wafting over you as you lie in your cozy cot. Once you have finished breakfast, you’ll embark on your final day of rafting. On the second day of rafting, depending on your previous night’s camp location, you may experience more action-packed whitewater, and you’ll have a few more hours of red rock spires before the river feeds into Lake Powell. Once you are on shore, a ground shuttle will be waiting to transport you back to Moab. If you so choose, a Moab area shuttle company could shuttle your car to the ending point of your rafting trip where you may continue elsewhere or return to Moab on your own (3.5 hr drive).
