Sunset in Arches National Park is a National Treasure - An Experience Not to Miss!
As the desert cools and the sun dips low, Arches National Park comes alive in color and quiet magic. Sit back and take in the beauty as your expert guide leads you through Moab’s most iconic landscapes — from the sculpted Courthouse Towers and Balanced Rock to sweeping views of the La Sal Mountains, Petrified Dunes, and Panorama Point. Step out for short guided walks to marvel at the Windows Section, Turret Arch, and the glowing Delicate Arch Viewpoint.
Then, as the light softens to amber and rose, watch the sandstone ignite in shades you’ll never forget. It’s the perfect ending to a day of adventure — peaceful, breathtaking, and undeniably Moab.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wouldn’t it be easier and cheaper just to drive myself through the park?
Not necessarily. On a guided tour you don’t need to worry about timed-entry reservations, parking headaches, or navigating crowded lots. Your guide knows the best order to see the park, shares stories you wouldn’t get on your own, and gets you to the right viewpoints at the right time for sunset. How is this tour different from the free ranger-led programs in the park?
Ranger programs are wonderful but short, site-specific talks. Our guided tour is a comprehensive experience—covering more ground, offering transportation to multiple viewpoints, and including insider knowledge of geology, history, and hidden highlights. Many of our guides are former park rangers, so you’ll get some excellent knowledge combined with the ideal pace and convenience of a full tour.Is it worth going at sunset?
Yes. The golden-hour lighting makes the arches glow and the cliffs light up in spectacular colors. Temperatures are usually cooler, and you’ll enjoy some of the best photo opportunities of the day. Many guests say sunset is the most magical time to experience Arches. Will I feel rushed to see everything in just 4 hours?
The tour is paced to include the park’s most iconic viewpoints without feeling hurried. Your guide balances time at each stop so you can explore, take photos, and enjoy the changing light. Many guests enjoy experiencing the park with a guide first, and then return on their own to visit some of the spots and longer hikes that the tour doesn’t cover. Is this tour good for families with kids?
Yes. Children love exploring the short trails and viewpoints, and guides keep the trip engaging for younger guests. With evening departures, many families find the cooler temperatures more comfortable for kids compared to midday.I’m not very physically fit. Will I be able to keep up?
The Sunset Tour focuses on short, easy walks from the vehicle to viewpoints. Most guests with average mobility find the tour very accessible. There are walks as much as ½ mile that include several steps on a gravel or dirt path with uneven surfaces. If you have limited mobility, talk with us before booking so we can advise you. What if I want to stay longer at one spot? Can the tour be customized?
Guides follow a set route to ensure you see the best of Arches in the evening light. While we can’t fully customize timing, guides often adjust stops based on lighting conditions, crowd levels, and group interests. How close will we get to the arches?
The tour includes short walks to viewpoints of major formations. You’ll be able to walk right up to some arches, while others are best viewed from scenic overlooks. If you want a long hike to Delicate Arch, that’s a separate adventure, but you’ll see it from a viewpoint. Will I have enough time to take photos at sunset?
Yes. The tour is designed around lighting conditions, with ample time at key viewpoints for photography. Guides know the best spots for sunset photos and are happy to help with group shots. What happens if the weather is cloudy or rainy?
Tours operate in most conditions, and cloud cover can make for dramatic skies at sunset. If weather makes it unsafe or the park inaccessible, we’ll work with you to reschedule or refund. How hot will it be in the evening?
Evenings are usually cooler and more comfortable than mid-day. Summer sunsets still carry some warmth, but the lowering sun makes hiking and walking easier. Bring a light layer for spring and fall, as temperatures can drop quickly after sunset. Are there bathroom stops during the tour?
Yes. The tour makes stops at park restrooms along the route. What snacks or drinks are provided, and what if I have dietary needs?
Light snacks are included. You’ll be provided with a reusable souvenir water bottle upon check-in that you can fill with water and bring with you. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions when you book, and bring your own snacks if you have specific needs. Will the park be crowded at sunset?
Sunset is a popular time, but guided tours help you avoid the stress of parking and navigating crowds. Guides know how to time stops to maximize your experience, even when the park is busy.I’m traveling solo. Will I feel out of place on this tour?
Not at all. Many solo travelers join group tours to connect with others and hear stories from guides. You’ll be welcomed into the group and have a chance to meet other travelers. What if the tour runs late? Will I still be back in time for dinner?
The Sunset Tour typically lasts about 4 hours. While exact return time depends on sunset timing and traffic, most groups are back in Moab by late evening. If you have dinner plans, choose a later reservation. Check the times on your reservation for the approximate return time as they vary throughout the year based on the time of sunset. How many people are in the group, and what kind of vehicle is used?
We match the size of the vehicle to the group booking the tour. Most of our tours operate in 12-passenger vans with large viewing windows, but larger groups may use a larger motor coach with comfortable seating and excellent views.Do I still need a timed entry reservation or park ticket if I join a tour?
No. Your tour includes park entry and timed-entry access. That’s one of the biggest benefits of joining a guided experience.
