Getting to Moab is Easy!

Planning a trip to Moab? You’ve got plenty of options, from flying into Moab’s own airport to scenic road trips from major nearby cities. The Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) is just 20 minutes from town, though you’ll need a shuttle or rental car once you land.

If you’re flying into a larger hub, expect a 4.5-hour drive from Salt Lake Citya 6.5-hour drive from Las Vegas, or a 7.5-hour drive from Denver. Each route takes you through stunning landscapes—towering mountains, winding canyons, and vast red rock desert.

Flying into the Moab Airport

Moab’s own Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) is located just 20 minutes from town, making it the quickest way to get here. From the airport, you can easily connect with rental cars, shuttles, or tours to start your adventure right away. Advance booking is required. Car Rentals in Moab

Renting a car is the easiest way to explore Moab and the surrounding parks. You’ll find options ranging from standard vehicles to rugged 4x4s built for red rock trails. For visitors who want extra adventure, Jeep rentals are a popular choice, giving you the freedom to tackle iconic Moab routes like Gemini Bridges or the Shafer Trail. If you’re planning on driving to Arches, Canyonlands, or local scenic byways, a standard rental car is usually all you need.

Shuttle Services to Moab

If you’d prefer not to drive, shuttle services are a reliable way to reach Moab. Salt Lake Express provides service from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Moab. Moab Express offers transfers from Grand Junction, Colorado (GJT) to Moab. These options make it easy to get here without a car, and once you arrive, you can connect to local transit, rental cars, or tours.

Moab Area Transit (in-town shuttle)

Once you’ve arrived in Moab, the free Moab Area Transit (MAT) system makes it easy to get around without a car. Operating seasonally from mid-March through October, MAT connects hotels and popular stops along Main Street, from the Fairfield Inn north of town to neighborhoods just south of Moab. You can hop on scheduled rides or request an on-demand shuttle using the MAT On-Demand app—a convenient way to explore town, reach dining and shopping, or connect with tours without worrying about parking.
