Looking for an afternoon escape from the desert sun? The La Sal Mountains have much to offer by means of campgrounds and picnic areas. Take a scenic drive up the La Sal Mountain Loop road and stop by the Oowah Lake Campground - where lakeside camp spots, pit toilets, hiking trails, and picnic tables are available to all. The lake, surrounded by dense forest, is the perfect place to sit back and relax. Or head over to the Warner Lake Campground,where serene meadows, aspen groves, and lakeside picnic areas await your arrival.

Oowah Lake

At 8,800 feet elevation, Oowah Lake makes itself at home amongst meadow and forest. It is a small but picturesque lake offering lush picnic areas and hikes.

Warner Lake

A short jaunt through a grove of aspen trees, brings you to a lovely meadow where little Warner Lake resides. A perfect place for picnicking, and taking in the grandeur of the surrounding La Sal Mountain Peaks.

Pack Creek

Day use area Only. Approximately 25 minutes from Moab boasts three picnic sites with tables and fire rings and one large group area (accommodates up to 30 guests.) This is a beautiful, woodsy lower elevation site before making the ascent up the La Sal Mnt. Loop Rd.
