“Canyonlands is so vast and remote that flying is the only way to really appreciate its beauty. Our pilot, Barbara, gave us perfect views, including Angel Arch, and timed the sunset flawlessly. From Dead Horse Point to the Colorado River, every moment was breathtaking. Worth every penny..

"Outstanding Sights Across Canyonlands"

The airplane flight over Canyonlands was amazing. It was the perfect way to view four districts of the expansive National Park. Our pilot and guide, Barbara, was informative and showed us many large and small features of the area. A highlight of our week in southern Utah.

"Moab's greatest hits from the best seat in the house"

★★★★★

You can hike all day and still not see what you see in one hour by air. Arches, canyons, rivers. The Arches and Canyonlands combo flight was like flipping through Moab’s greatest hits from the best seat in the house. Absolutely worth it.

"Loved the Perspective of the parks from the Air"

★★★★★

We flew over the parks the morning after our sunset Arches tour, and it was the perfect complement. Seeing the formations from above was surreal, and our guide’s knowledge made it even more special. Highly suggest doing it together with a land-based tour to get the best of both perspectives.

From Footsteps to Flight

For thousands of years, people have walked these canyons, lived beneath towering cliffs, and followed the Colorado River as it carved its way through the desert. Ancient hunter-gatherers, the Ancestral Puebloans, and later the Ute left their marks in stone—petroglyphs and dwellings that remind us Moab’s story began long before modern travelers arrived. Mormon pioneers followed in the 1800s, carving out a life along the same riverbanks.

But for all those centuries, Moab was experienced only from the ground—step by step, trail by trail, river bend by river bend. It wasn’t until the first small planes droned over canyon country in the early 20th century that a new chapter began. Suddenly, the landscape unfolded in ways no one had imagined: arches revealed from above, entire canyon systems laid bare, the rivers seen as silver threads weaving an immense desert tapestry.

Flying over Moab isn’t just sightseeing—it’s sharing in that legacy of wonder. It’s the moment when the land ceases to be a series of trails and cliffs and instead becomes a grand design, a masterpiece only fully appreciated from the sky.
