Yes! Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY) is located 18 miles north of Moab. Great Lakes Aviation currently provides direct flights from Denver, Colorado to Moab, Utah. The closest major airport to Moab is located in Salt Lake City (236 miles from Moab - 4 hour drive). 2. How is the heat in the summertime?
Actually, the heat isn’t as intense as you may have been led to believe. This region is considered to be a high desert – ground level in Moab is 4000 feet and the surrounding National Parks reach elevations of over 6000 feet. During the summer months there is very little cloud cover and our humidity is extremely low which results in remarkably cool and comfortable evenings. As a result of that cooling, the morning temperatures are quite comfortable. Getting an early start in the morning provides hikers and bikers many hours of comfortable temperatures. The warmest part of the day is usually from 1pm-4pm. Summer visitors to southern Utah often spend the morning enjoying mountain biking, horseback rides, and hiking and then spend the afternoon pursuing activities such as rafting or 4x4 trips. Yes, several businesses and most hotels offer wireless internet. You can stop by the Moab Adventure Center at 225 S Main anytime and pick up a connection. You'll find tables outside on the patio.

Yes, Allen Memorial Hospital is a 38-bed facility which includes a Care Center wing of 17 beds. The not-for-profit hospital serves as a center for specialized medical care with four family practice physicians and two mid-level providers. There is also a well-defined system of referral to courtesy staff and staff at nearby facilities, primarily Grand Junction, Colorado. 7. What activities are there in the Moab area to enjoy with small children?
Children under 5 generally love shorter 4x4 tours and exploring the sand and redrock on shorter hikes. There are also many short trails in Arches National Park that small children can enjoy. In particular, Sand Dune Arch contains a massive sand pile beneath the arch which is always popular with kids. For kids over 5 years old, half-day rafting trips or scenic flights are a good choice. Children over 8 can enjoy horseback riding or mountain biking. Additionally, the town of Moab contains a water park and public swimming pool.

9. Can I hike with my pet?
NATIONAL PARKS: Activities with pets are very limited within the National Parks of southern Utah. Pets are prohibited from the back country as well as on trails. Pets must be leashed at all times when outside a vehicle and may be walked only on roads or in parking lots. Pets may accompany visitors in campgrounds.
PUBLIC LANDS: Generally, pets may accompany you as you hike on public land in Canyon Country. For the safety of your pet (there are many shear drop-offs in Canyon Country) and other hikers, pets should be kept under control at all times. Be aware that other wildlife may be encountered along trails. Please note that heavily traveled areas may have additional regulations regarding pets. Please remember that the climate of southeastern Utah is considered to be an arid desert. Summertime temperatures inside a closed vehicle can reach life threatening levels in a short period of time. Therefore, it is not recommended that you leave your pet in a vehicle.
